Artist Statement
The art of Perry Cordill is described as "Energy /Action Art." All that lives has energy and the use of vibrant color is a way Perry has found to illustrate that universal energy. With his animals he tries to bring out the personality of his subject. Some wild animals, especially predators, are often depicted brandishing teeth, roaring with their aggressive strength as the major aspect of their personality. Perry likes to catch them off guard, in peaceful, nurturing, even sleepy postures that express another side of their existence.
To explore and experiment, to constantly challenge the limits of his artistic expression is his ambition and goal. To stretch his imagination with vibrantly painted canvases, to try to observe and express his observations in ways previously unexplored is the essence of Perry's art.

Artist Bio
From childhood, Perry was always drawing and painting. Crayons and watercolor sets gave way to coloring books and Paint-By-Number art . When choosing a major in college, it was Art. Educated at Pasadena City College and UCLA, Perry graduated in Graphic Art. However, it was business, then the ministry and raising a family that occupied his time and effort. In 2007, the encouragement from his mother-in-law, a painter for 20 years herself, caused him to once again call upon his innate love of art and seriously start painting. After retirement Perry moved from Las Vegas to Sonoma County to be near his wife's family. From that time Perry began involving himself with local artists, joining Art Workshop of West Sonoma County. He became its Vice President in 2013 and 2014. Since coming to such a rich artistic environment, he has grown as a painter and challenges himself constantly to better his art and serve the art community of Northern California.
